Training for master students on the Faculty of Education and Psychology of ELTE

Borbála Fellegi held a course on the theory and practice of restorative procedures for the master studens of ELTE’s faculty of Education and Psychology.

During the practical part of the course the students were introduced to criminal mediation, the conference method, peacemaking circles, the methodology of community mediation and also the method of family decision making groups.

Besides the practical introduction of the various techniques, the most important theories and baselines have also been viewed over from a psycological, legal and sociological aspect, mentioning Hungarian and international literature and research as well.

Four educational videos have been screened during the training, among them were the comunity mediation films made by Foresee as well.

According to the students’ feedback, 95% of them were perfectly satisfied with the training. They named the ideal balance of theory and practice, the diverse introduction of the restorative approach, the practicality of the course and the techniques that can be used later on in everyday life as the biggest assets of the training.
