In her presentation, Foresee’s executive talked about the possible implementation of restorative techniques in community conflicts, introduced Foresee’s Nagybörzsöny and peace making circles projects, shared these projects’ experiences, and also mentioned the aim and the structure of the ALTERNATIVE project. A screening of Foresee’s „We also exist” film also took place.
The presentation focused on the dilemma of how exactly to interpret community involvement, and in a society where (despite its importance) being involved in a community is somewhat hard for the citizens to fathom, how can they still be involved in discussing, and closing community matters.
35 researchers and law enforcement officials from Austria, Germany, Hungary and Australia took part in COREPOL’s event.
Among the presenters was Prof. Dr. Steve James from the University of Melbourne, an extraordinary researcher of the restorative subjects, who focuses, among other things on the possible implementation of these techniques in the fight to overcome social tension connected to the aboriginals
